Job description:
BNP Paribas Global Securities Operations (GSO) is seeking a qualified and motivated Associate to join their Trade Processing team. The team is responsible for handling global security transactions, trade capture, matching, and settlement of securities, FX, and money market instruments. As an Associate in Trade Processing, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth trade operations for clients globally.
Position purpose:
As an Associate in the Trade Processing department, your main responsibility will be to perform daily Business-As-Usual (BAU) tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures for the assigned team and clients. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate trade confirmation and settlement. Additionally, you will resolve failed trade queries, monitor transactions, and update procedures as needed to stay current with changes in the process.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Process global security transactions on trade processing platforms within given deadlines.
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders to resolve trade confirmation and settlement queries.
- Monitor transactions to ensure timely settlement and accounting, matching trades within market/client deadlines.
- Work with custodians and brokers to facilitate timely matching and settlement.
- Report exceptions in line with internal control and client requirements.
- Proactively resolve failed trade queries and escalate exceptions for early resolution.
- Ensure all errors and procedure breakdowns are documented as per BNP Paribas policy.
- Collaborate in ad-hoc projects and new initiatives.
Technical & behavioral competencies:
- Thorough understanding of capital markets, financial instruments, and investment banking processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, especially strong MS Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to handle high volumes of activity and work effectively in a team.
Specific qualifications:
- Graduates/Post Graduates (B.Com/MBA).
- 0-4 years of experience with an investment banking background.
- Willingness to work in any shifts supporting Asia/Americas/European business hours.
Education level:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (>= 3 years).
Experience Level:
0-4 years of experience with an investment banking background.
