Job description:

The Tax Intern will support the tax team in managing compliance, conducting research, and assisting with various tax-related tasks. This role offers hands-on experience in tax preparation, analysis, and regulatory adherence, making it ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build a career in taxation and finance.

Key responsibilities:

Tax Compliance:

• Assist in preparing and filing direct and indirect tax returns (e.g., GST, Income Tax, TDS).
• Support in ensuring compliance with local and national tax regulations.
• Help maintain accurate tax records and documentation for audit purposes.

Tax research & analysis:

• Conduct research on tax regulations, amendments, and rulings to assist with strategic planning.
• Analyze data to identify tax-saving opportunities and assess potential risks.

Support for Tax Audits:

• Collaborate with the tax team to prepare for tax audits and assessments.
• Assist in compiling necessary documentation and responding to audit queries.

Process Improvement:

• Contribute ideas for improving tax processes and reporting efficiency.
• Assist in automating repetitive tax-related tasks through tools or software.

Cross-functional collaboration:

• Coordinate with finance, accounts, and legal teams to gather and validate data required for tax filings.
• Assist in resolving tax-related queries from internal stakeholders.

Qualifications & skills:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Skills:

• Basic knowledge of tax laws and regulations (e.g., GST, Income Tax, TDS).
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, or similar tools).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a dynamic environment.
